Constipation and Laxative
Synthetic laxatives such as lactulose have been proven to destroy intestinal flora, prevent absorption of nutrients in the intestines and to make the bowel muscles lazy. We believe that they do more damage than good.
The natural alternatives include:
- Natural laxatives
- Colon massage
- Plenty of water or juice (not tea and coffee)
- Fresh fruit and vegetable
- Exercise
- Hatha Yoga exercises for constipation

Caffeinated tea and coffee act as a diarretic, drying effect, removing fluid from the bodily system. This makes constipation very much worse, so they are to be reduced or avoided whilst constipated
Switch to herbal and/or fruit teas and make sure that you drink plenty of fluids: at least 2 litres of water or fruit juice per day.
Fresh fruit and vegetables
Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, cut down on any drying food such as bread, biscuits, cakes, pastry, etc.
Eat at least 3 juicy fruits and 3 bananas per day
